Muffaletta Sandwich 


Ingredients:

Round Italian bread loaf: 1 (8-inch)

Genoa salami, thinly sliced: 1/4 lb

Mortadella, thinly sliced: 1/4 lb

Ham, thinly sliced: 1/4 lb

Provolone cheese, sliced: 1/4 lb

Swiss cheese, sliced: 1/4 lb

Green olives, chopped: 1/2 cup

Black olives, chopped: 1/2 cup

Giardiniera (Italian pickled vegetables), chopped: 1/2 cup

Olive oil: 1/4 cup

Red wine vinegar: 1 tbsp

Garlic, minced: 1 clove

Fresh parsley, chopped: 2 tbsp

Tomatoes, sliced: 2 medium

Pickles, sliced: 1/2 cup


Instructions:

1️⃣ Cut the bread loaf horizontally in half and scoop out some of the soft interior to 

make room for the fillings.

2️⃣ In a bowl, mix the chopped olives, giardiniera, olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, 

and parsley to make the olive salad.

3️⃣ Spread half of the olive salad on the bottom half of the bread.

4️⃣ Layer the salami, mortadella, ham, provolone, and Swiss cheese over the olive 

salad.

5️⃣ Add the sliced tomatoes and pickles on top.

6️⃣ Spread the remaining olive salad on the top half of the bread and place it over 

the fillings.

7️⃣ Press the sandwich down gently, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate 

for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes:

For a vegetarian option, replace the meats with grilled vegetables.
