model Hailey Baldwin said she underwent surgery to close a hole in her heart after suffering a stroke in March.
Justin Bieber's wife said through a video posted on Youtube on April 27: "Everything is going well. I am recovering very quickly... I am relieved to be able to detect the disease and fix it. That helps me to have peace of mind and live on." The video attracted more than a million views within hours of being posted.
In March, Hailey Baldwin had to go to the emergency room after suffering a transient ischemic attack, commonly known as a mild stroke. Doctors said a blood clot moved near her brain and blocked the vessel, causing ischemia. "The right side of my face was numb at that time, unable to speak. My anxiety made things worse. When I went to the emergency room, everything gradually returned to normal. I was able to talk again and no longer have problems in the face or hands like before."
Doctors diagnosed Baldwin's stroke as having several causes. She had just started using birth control, which led to some side effects such as migraines. The model was also tired after undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and returned to the US after a business trip in France.
Baldwin then went to the UCLA hospital and found that he had the highest grade of PFO. The doctor discovered in her heart there was a hole about 1.2-1.3 cm. This is also what causes the blood clot to move from the heart to near the brain. During surgery, the doctor inserts a circular object through a vein in the thigh to fill the hole. Baldwin's heart tissue would then grow around the object, preventing similar strokes in the future.
Hailey Baldwin was born in 1996 in the US, to a famous actor father Stephen Baldwin, uncle is actor Alec Baldwin. Hailey started modeling at the age of 17 and was voted by Maxim magazine as " the sexiest woman on the planet 2017". At the end of September 2019, she and Justin Bieber got married in South Carolina, USA after more than a year of marriage registration.
