Ribeye steak with French Onions and French Fries

Ingredients:

-  2 ribeye steaks

-  2 large onions, thinly sliced

-  2 tablespoons olive oil

-  2 tablespoons butter

- 1 teaspoon sugar

- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

- 4 large potatoes, cut into fries

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Directions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).


2. Prepare the Fries:

- Place the cut potatoes in a bowl, drizzle with vegetable oil, and season with salt. Toss to coat.

- Spread the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.


3. Caramelize the Onions:

- In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, sprinkle with sugar, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until caramelized.

- Add balsamic vinegar to the onions, stir, and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.


4. Cook the Steaks:

- Season the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper.

- Heat a separate skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.

- Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing.


5. Serve:

- Serve the steaks topped with caramelized onions and a side of crispy French fries.

- Garnish with chopped parsley.
