Golden Seared Scallops with Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce 


Ingredients:

1 lb sea scallops (about 12-16 large scallops)

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 tbsp unsalted butter

3 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1-2 lemons)

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving


Instructions:

Prepare the scallops: Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove any excess 

moisture. Season both sides with salt and pepper.


Heat the pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot 

and shimmering.


Sear the scallops: Carefully add the scallops to the hot skillet, making sure they are 

spaced apart. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes on one side, or until a golden crust 

forms. Flip and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes. The scallops 

should be opaque and slightly firm to the touch. Remove from the skillet and set 

aside.


Make the garlic lemon butter sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to 

medium-low and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sautĆ© for 1 

minute until fragrant. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley, cooking for 

another 1-2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.


Serve: Drizzle the garlic lemon butter sauce over the seared scallops. Garnish with 

extra parsley and lemon wedges for an extra burst of freshness.
